Emergency Department (ED) Program
The three-month program includes assessment, development, implementation of new charging methodology based on CMS coding criteria for hospitals and education of ED staff for on-going maintenance and monitoring. HMI will assist the hospital in the development and implementation of a resource-based criteria and charging tool for the purpose of objectively assigning ED visit levels and procedures. Providing technical support and educational resources to staff relating to outpatient ED services for compliance with CMS rules and regulations is also an integral part of the program.
