Audio Conferences/Seminars
To provide a helpline resource for the provider community to address their coding and billing questions that arise during day-to-day operations. HMI will answer questions using the most current coding and billing guidelines available through CMS and the American Medical Association’s coding guidelines through its publications CPT Assistant and Coding Clinic for ICD-9-CM.
HMI consultant specialists will be available to answer questions via an e-mail service related, but not limited, to the following:
- Chargemaster
- CPT/HCPCS/UB revenue code assignments
- Modifier applications
- OPPS billing guidelines (same day rule, packaged and bundled services, etc.)
- APC payment rates/status indicators
- CCI Edits
- Documentation guidelines
- Medical necessity and ABNs
- Physician billing
The healthcare resources utilized by HMI to respond to questions will be communicated via e-mail. This allows the individual to have access to these resources for future reference on related issues. Additionally, HMI will address within our e-newsletter, Coding and Billing for Prospective Payment Systems, common coding and billing questions that are submitted through the helpline. Each helpline client will receive complimentary issues of this e-newsletter.
