Healthcare Consultant (Full-time, Independent Contractor, or Subcontractor Positions Available)
Qualifications:
3 to 5 years consultant experience or equivalent of 7 years work experience in healthcare related field, preferring at least 3 years dedicated to hospital or physician group setting.
Candidate will have at least two of the following:
Knowledge and hands-on knowledge of chargemaster (CDM) management with the ability to manage and monitor client's CDM, perform line-by-line analysis to update CPT/HCPCS and UB revenue codes, and monitor implementation of CDM updates into hospital system; familiarity with Medicare policies and fiscal intermediary guidelines; ability to perform interviews with hospital staff and provide education/in-services on coding and billing.
Ability to perform outpatient and inpatient coding reviews including: perform review of patient charts to evaluate the effectiveness and accuracy of the coding and provide education to coding and hospital staff on coding and billing guidelines; ability to perform analysis and evaluation of complete revenue management cycle.
Ability to be a speaker or instructor for seminars or workshops. An ideal candidate should have experience, working knowledge, and ability to teach and present ICD-9-CM, CPT, HCPCS, APCs and DRGs, and familiarity with Part B or professional coding and billing methodologies.
Knowledge in reviewing physician’s super bill, E/M levels, consultation and procedure coding. Experience with auditing 1500 forms and EOBs with the physician documentation from the medical record for accuracy and completeness. Ability to provide education to medical staff and/or physician office staff in coding and billing methodologies.
Candidate will be proficient in verbal and written communication, and have extensive experience in effectively utilizing Microsoft products including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Minimum Education:
RN, PA, LVN, RNP, LPN, RHIA, RHIT, CPC-H, CPC, CCS or Degree in healthcare related field (or any combination).
